OK so i have this one cat that i’ve had for 3yrs now and i got this other cat in October and so far things are ok but recently the new cat started attacking my old cat. It’s amost like he is jealous or something. I spend a great deal of my time on the newer cat because of his previous home life. My old cat goes outside a lot and now is afraid to come in at all cause everytime he comes in the new cat attacks him.
It’s not like he just weary cause he’s in a new home he’s been here 6months now and all this behaviour started about 2 weeks ago. He even lys in my bed and attacks anyone who goes near it. I know it sounds strange but does anyone have any solutions or suggestions? No, neither of these cats are fixed and i have no intentions of fixing them because they don’t spray! Would a female cat(that is fixed) help loosen him up?
I don’t want to give away any of my pets so any help would be awesome!
Thanks
I don’t live in a community its just us on a nice farm with no neighbors and 10 acres of land, and NO they do not spray. Spraying is a way for cats to relieve their anxiety. They are fighting over me cause each of them wants me to spend all my time with them.
Trish i apologize for the ignorance of the people who responded. You are correct and will get best answer. It is cruel to fix a cat when you live on a farm with no neighbors or other cats or when cats can’t speak for themselves. It would be like me not being able to talk and someone deciding for me that i should have my uterus pulled or my tubes tied without my consent, for this reason only is why i elect to NOT have my cats fixed. I do have a fixed female BUT she came to me that way. All you other ignorant people who responded with your ignorant trash should take lessons and read more books on cats like Trish here did.
Sometimes cats will all of a sudden start fighting because of a previous misunderstanding such as one cat accidently runs and bumps into the other which misunderstood it as an attack. What I have done to get the 2 cats on good terms again is to have both of them near me and petting both at the same time and speaking sweetly and softly to them while gradually pulling them closer to each other. They soon realize that they don’t need to fear each other because they are both staying calm. You have to be patient and it will take time.
