its possible and easy. use a treat they like. do small training sessions and be patient. i trained my cats to sit, kiss and give paw.
you train them like you would a dog.
only about 5 mins a session. and a couple sessions a day. as they get easily bored lol.
for paw or shake, i grabbed my cats front paw and held it in my hand and repeated "paw" as i gave her a treat. i kept doing this for a couple days.
i then started to see if she would do it to the words, i wouldn't give her a treat until her paw was on my hand. i would keep saying it and if she didn't do it i would put nudge her paw (always use the hand without the treats for this) as she lifted it i put my flat palm out so she rest her paw on it then gave her a treat. after a few days she was a master at this trick. i did the same with the other tricks! dead easy!
ive trained 3 of my cats to do this :)
good luck!

It is possible, but hard. I've tried teaching my cat tricks. I can get her to stand on her hind legs when I make a hand gesture, if that counts as a trick.
