Training Kitten to use toilet?


I just ordered a system to aide me in training my kitten to use the toilet instead of a litter box – My question is at what age is good to start? During the first few steps the hole into the toilet is very small but as he progresses the opening will be wider and I am afraid of him falling in. He is 2.5 lbs and 3 months old. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
